Marjolein Guldentops

We are Marjolein Guldentops and Accou Laposte, a duo based in Brussels. Together, we explore the intersections between language, technology, performance, and experimental music. Our collaboration emerges from a shared interest in the voice and text as unstable materials, open to deconstruction, reassembly, and transformation into new sonic forms.

Marjolein Guldentops is a Belgian visual artist and performer who explores the materiality of language and the dynamics of textual experience. Her practice moves between writing, performance, and printed matter, often shifting from one form into another: text becomes voice, voice becomes spatial composition, and so on. Through these transformations, she investigates how language shapes space, perception, and the body’s relation to both.

Accou Laposte is a sound project that creates introspective and ephemeral sonic landscapes, where digital memory, fragmented narratives, and melancholic harmonies converge. With a background in fine arts and pedagogy, his sonic practice combines experimental composition with a sensitivity to the ways in which knowledge and experience are transmitted. In recent years, this has expanded into collaborations that weave together sound, conceptual art, poetic research, and live performance.

Our shared practice unfolds across composition, live performance, writing, and sound. We work with voice, gesture, and electronic processing to create fragmented narratives revolving around themes such as materiality, displacement, and dream logic. For us, narration does not unfold in a straight line. It circulates through rhythm, sensation, interruption, and sometimes even silence. We are drawn to what happens when language drifts, or when meaning is felt before it is fully understood.
