Telltales, 2024.

Telltales is a performative walking tour where the artist invites participants to follow her voice and the path marked by the tip of her umbrella through the streets of Nicosia’s old town. Using an associative narrative approach, the piece combines seemingly disjointed elements into a cohesive exploration, interweaving personal discoveries, historical facts, and fictional elements. The narrative bridges past and present, uncovering connections between fragments of history and the urban landscape. By juxtaposing proximity and distance, concealment and revelation, Telltales examines notions of public and private space. Particular attention is given to architectural details and street names, highlighting the historical traces embedded in the city’s fabric.

Telltales was performed twice during the 11th Xarkis Festival in Cyprus in September 2024, with the support of SOFAM.
